Instructions for use
Synopsis
Welcome to the (external) TSD Publication Portal. This service enables you to browse and retrieve the files published for you, or files pertaining to projects you are responsible for.
Retrieving files
- Click an item in the selector called Groups to limit the files displayed in the table to files associated with a specific group or organisational unit. If you have access to a single group only, that group will be pre-selected.
- Click an item in the selector called Persons to search for files associated with a specific person. If you have access to the files of a single person only, such as yourself, that person will be pre-selected.
- The files for the person in question will be retrieved and displayed in the tab called My files at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the name of a file in the file listing to display or download that file.
Listing files
There are two types of files, which are accessible via the two tabs in the area called My files.
- My files are files that have been shared directly with you.
- Files about persons are files that are associated with particular groups or organisational units of whom you are a member.
Searching contents
If you have access to many groups, or if many persons are associated with one of these groups, it can be useful to limit the number of options displayed in the lists. Search strings enable you to search for specific groups, persons and files.
All search fields are case-insensitive, that is, they work equally for both lower-case and upper-case letters.
- Use the text fields labeled Search group, Search person and Search file to limit the items displayed in the corresponding listing to items that match the term you specify.
- Use the eraser symbols next to the text fields () to reset each of the filters.
- Click the button called to reset all three search filters and start from scratch.
Sorting files
You can sort the files displayed in the File listing similarly to using a graphical file manager.
- Use the sorting symbols in the table heading () to sort the table rows by the column in question.
- Clicking the same symbol a second time reverses the sorting order.
Secondary information
Many of the items displayed in the publication portal provide secondary information via tooltips by hovering the mouse pointer over textual items.
- The options of the Groups list provide tooltips of the canonical group names of the options displayed. You can use both the canonical name and the name displayed as an option to search for that group.
- The options listed under Persons provide tooltips of the birthdates of the persons displayed, which may be useful if there are more than one person with the same name.
In the listing of My files, the following information is available:
- The Publisher denotes the person who shared the file with you.
- The publication date (Published) denotes when the file was published.
- Expiry denotes the latest date on which the file will be accessible by you. Once this date is exceeded, the file will not be available anymore.
- If specified, Usages indicates how many times you may access the file.
